      Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) which is more commonly known as the Sloan-Kettering Institute (SKI) is a cancer research and treatment center. It includes a bed hospital and research facilities. The center has programs in cancer prevention, treatment, research and education and specializes in bone-marrow transplants and chemotherapy. Kurt Jaeckle, M.D., is a neuro-oncologist who has directed the clinical trials program in Neurooncology at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.

      After spending eight years at the University of Iowa, Dr. Koretzky returned to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in as professor of pathology and laboratory medicine and director of the Signal Transduction Program at the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute, where he was also chair of its executive committee. Founded in , Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) was the first cancer hospital in the United States. That legacy continues to drive our focus on generating meaningful discoveries that change our understanding of cancer as a disease and applying those insights to improve the effectiveness of cancer treatment.

        Lewis Thomas was a physician, poet, etymologist, essayist, administrator, educator, policy advisor, and researcher. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Medical School, he was the dean of Yale Medical School and New York University School of Medicine, and the president of Memorial Sloan-Kettering s: The Institute acts under the responsibility given to the National Academy of Sciences by its congressional charter to be an adviser to the federal government and, upon its own initiative, to identify issues of medical care, research, and education. Dr. Harvey V. Fineberg is president of the Institute of Medicine.

Our Research The Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) is the experimental research arm of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Discoveries made in SKI labs are an important driver of clinical progress at MSK and beyond.

Our research spans nine program areas.
